How can I access figures from closed-access journals?

BenchSci has content from both open- and closed-access journals, and this article will explain how you can access the closed-access content

Figures from closed-access journals on BenchSci are marked with a key icon on the top left-hand corner of the figure card, as shown here:

You can view the antibody that was used in each figure on BenchSci, whether it's from an open- or closed-access journal.

However, since closed-access content is subscription based, figure legends and sometimes figures from these papers are hidden. To view the full figure with legend, you can follow the “View Figure and Legend” icon to view the full text, like this:

You will then be required to authenticate your institution's journal subscription via your institution’s portal, such as through the institutional library website, or by entering your subscription information.
