What kind of specifications can I type directly into the search bar?

You can conduct complex searches with multiple terms to define your experimental parameters all at once.

You can search for a protein target using its gene name or an alias along with experimental context directly in the search bar. This includes technique, organism tested, tissue, cell type, cell line, and disease. You can also search for product specifications including the company, host, reactivity, clonality, clone ID, and post-translational modifications (such as “phospho” or “acetyl”). We are working on making it possible to search for conjugation, specificity, and kits using the search bar and will be coming soon!

BenchSci will detect your search terms, match them with the appropriate experimental context filter, and present you with search suggestions that you can use to conduct your search. You can review the list of suggestions and select the one that is most appropriate for your experiment. You can also remove search terms by clicking the “x” in the specific context box.

You can also search for specific products in the same search bar. Just enter the catalog number of the antibody you’re looking for and BenchSci will show you the matching product.

Don’t worry if you left out anything, you can always use the side filter panel to apply filters to narrow down your experimental context, with the same results.
